The Dell Stadium, which is a healthy hub under the healthy towns project, will host its leg of the national fundraising event on Sunday 25 March.
Routes of one, three and six miles are on offer from the council-led facility and it’s hoped lots of people will sign up to help the borough get active, raise money and change lives.
Money raised through Sport Relief helps to change the life of thousands of people living in poverty both inside and outside of the UK.
Anyone who would like to participate can sign up online now at www.sportrelief.com/the-mile
Dudley Council is delighted to be launching its ninth annual Mayor’s Civic Awards in association with Thomas Cook.
The awards celebrate the silent stars working tirelessly among us. We are calling on people across the borough to put forward nominations for the awards. We want you to tell us about the people in your community who achieve great things or go above and beyond what is expected of them to make things happen.
Nominees will compete for the Duncan Edwards award for sport, sponsored by Dudley healthy towns. The Cedric Hardwicke award for arts sponsored by StourbridgeCollege, the Frank Foley award for community spirit sponsored by Dudley Building Society and the Thomas Attwood award for education which is sponsored by Computeach are also up for grabs.
Nominations must be in by 19 February and the winner and one runner-up in each of the four categories will be announced in March. They will be presented with their prize – a trophy and a certificate by the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Michael Evans at a civic ceremony on 16 March.
You can find out more and nominate online here or can pick up a nomination form from libraries across the borough from early next week. Alternatively contact Dudley Council's communications and public affairs on 01384 814 449 for a form.

Participants are asked to walk the distance from Dudley to Wimbledon, which is 134 miles, by the end of June.
Anyone who completes the challenge will be entered into a prize draw to win a 12-month fitness membership at Dudley Council's leisure centres. They will also receive their very own healthy towns rosette.
Walking to school, work or college, dancing at a party, skipping to one of the healthy hubs, Nordic walking, jogging, strolling around the park and running outdoors or on a treadmill all count.
It is free to take part and residents are asked to enquire at their local healthy hub located at: Mary Stevens Park in Stourbridge, Huntingtree Park in Halesowen, Netherton Park, Silver Jubilee Park in Coseley and the Dell Stadium in Brierley Hill.
Anyone who enrolls will be given a free pack containing a pedometer, a record card and a healthy towns pen. They will be able to track their progress by moving a healthy towns mascot across one of the Walk to Wimbledon charts at the five hubs.

Free activities were on offer for all the family including games, workshops, multi sports, treasure hunts, face painting, sumo wrestling suits, inflatable football pitches and much more.
The occasions also marked the official opening of the healthy towns facilities, following the completion of the physical works aspect of the project, and were attended by the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, cabinet members, ward councillors and other VIPs.
